We might have a winner here. Alcon Entertainment is the production company behind the urban comedy Lottery Ticket. The studio began making movies in 1999, and Warner Brothers has been distributing their films since the year 2000. Audiences will have to take a chance, open their wallets, and get a ticket if they want to see if Lottery Ticket is a winner.

Bow Wow will star as an 18-year old-young man living in a forgotten neighborhood who wins a lottery worth $350 million. The film will explore his reaction to his incredible luck and his efforts to survive a long three-day weekend while holding the winning ticket. Before he can collect on his winnings, opportunistic neighbors try to take advantage of the young man's good fortune. Ice Cube will play a withdrawn former boxer who lives in the basement of the building where Bow Wow lives.

Alcon Entertainment appears to have made a good decision bringing in Ice Cube and Bow Wow to be part of the project. Both men have enjoyed success in the music industry and have branched into television and film very easily. Bow Wow's notable film roles include Like Mike (2002), Roll Bounce (2005), and Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006). Ice Cube has enjoyed even more success on the big screen, being involved with such projects as Boyz n The Hood (1991), Friday (1995), Anaconda (1997), The Players Club (1998), Three Kings (1999), Barbershop (2002), and Are We There Yet? (2005). With the long history of achievement on the resume of these two men Lottery Ticket doesn't look like much of a gamble for Alcon Entertainment.

The film could be the latest in a series of movies that continue to put Alcon Entertainment, which is owned by founders Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, on the film making map. My Dog Skip (2000) was their first success and was made on a budget of just $6 million. It brought in about $35 million worldwide. Insomnia (2002) was their next winner. It was made for $46 million and took in $113 million globally.

Racing Stripes (2005) made $90 million total. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005) and its sequel, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008) both made nearly double their production budgets. 16 Blocks (2006) didn't raise any eyebrows at the box office but it was a hit on DVD. The studio's crowning achievement was the 2007 drama P.S. I Love You, which was made on a budget of $30 million and brought in a whopping $145 million internationally.
