Download Winnie The Pooh movies for free

In the proud tradition of The Tigger Movie and Return to Neverland, Disney is once again releasing an inexpensive sequel to a beloved classic with Piglet's Big Movie. These films are becoming the true bread and butter of the animation department, particularly in light of the fact that big budget productions such as Treasure Planet have fallen flat at the box office. Like The Tigger Movie before it, Piglet's Big Movie is destined to be profitable even if it only manages middling numbers during its theatrical release.

This particular film is obviously the story of the tiniest member of Winnie the Pooh's Hundred Acre Wood circle of friends. In this case, the timid Piglet finds himself lost in the woods, and while his loyal pals rally together to save him, he also finds some self-confidence of his own.

Original music for the film will be performed by singer/songwriter Carly Simon, who provides seven original songs in addition to singing the classic Winnie the Pooh theme. Her name lends additional marketing power to the film, which has already had a trailer released on last year's DVD for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

There's not much reason to expect huge or impacting box office from Piglet's Big Movie, but it will be a profitable venture for Disney that will ensure the continued release of sequel-type films for the big screen rather than going the direct-to-video route. Look for The Heffalump Movie to be the next project in this particular series, in fact. (Kim Hollis/BOP)

Download Winters Bone free

Whilst watching Winter's Bone, Debra Gronik's blistering adaptation of the novel by Daniel Woodrell, I kept comparing it to David Lynch's Blue Velvet. Not because they are similar in style or tone - there couldn't be a greater difference between the digital, handheld realism of Winter's Bone and Lynch's Hitchcockian composition - but because both films display an intuitive understanding how their respective communities work, and the ways in which cruelty and kindness, beauty and brutality, co-exist and can sometimes be embodied in the same person.

Both films are also, to an extent, about the way in which a young innocent is changed and brutalized by their descent into an underworld that they don't understand. Ree Dolly (Jennifer Lawrence) is less jejune than Jeffrey Beaumont, though, as we discover very early on. At just 17, Ree is already responsible for the well-being of her family, who live in a rickety cabin in a remote part of the Ozark mountains of Missouri. Her father is a crystal meth cook who spends much of his time in prison, her mother is sick, and Ree's younger sister and brother are too young to care for themselves. With no money, they rely largely on the kindness of their neighbors to get by, even having to give up the family horse so that she'll get fed.

If Ree's existence wasn't hardscrabble enough, the story really starts to turn the screws when she learns that her father has gone missing after putting the family house up as part of his bail bond. If he doesn't make his court date, the house will be repossessed by the county and Ree and her family will be kicked out. Since the police don't have any leads, and don't seem to care that much either way, Ree starts asking questions of the reprobates and drug dealers that comprise her extended family in order to discover the truth. But her family members don't like talking because talking only creates witnesses, and witnesses can easily disappear under the Ozark snow.

Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie: FREE Download Links!

When I was a young girl, I was a big reader. Encouraged by bookish parents, I could always be seen with my nose in a book. I would often stay up way past my bedtime reading books I just couldn't put down. They've always been a big part of my life.

In my elementary school years, one of the most important authors in my emerging enjoyment of books was Beverly Cleary. From Henry Huggins to The Mouse and the Motorcycle to the many stories of Ramona Quimby (including Beezus and Ramona, Ramona the Pest, Ramona the Brave, Ramona and Her Father, and more), Cleary understood how to tap into the imaginations of kids.

Beezus is the big sister in the books. Her real name is Beatrice, but because Ramona couldn't say her name while she was learning to talk, Beezus wound up with a nickname that stuck. Ramona is constantly embarrassing her and getting her into awkward situations, too. They do a lot of things that you might expect from sisters (I have three of them and can vouch for the authenticity of the stories). It's all very relatable and healthy, clean fun.

It was really only natural that the story of these two sisters would eventually be adapted to film. Honestly, I'm a little surprised it didn't happen sooner (there was a Canadian television series, but that's all). Anchoring the film is Selena Gomez as Beezus, which is a huge boon for the prospects of the movie, since she's a big Disney Channel star. She's the key star of The Wizards of Waverly Place, a hot property for the Mouse House.

Previous book adaptations targeted at girls have had middling results, including Nancy Drew and An American Girl. This time around, good marketing may help get the Disney Channel audience into theaters. Still, with Walden Media being the studio behind the adaptation, there is cause for concern about the prospects for Ramona and Beezus. Their kid book adaptation record has been up and down. The good? Holes, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Charlotte's Web, Bridge to Terabithia, and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Their less successful stuff, though, includes such names as Hoot, How to Eat Fried Worms, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising and City of Ember. Really, Ramona and Beezus could go either way. (Kim Hollis/BOP)

World's Greatest Dad Download free

Robin Williams returns to theatres in the black comedy World's Greatest Dad.

In recent years, having Robin Williams above the title has brought as much box office success as Eddie Murphy, but unlike the latter, Mr. Williams will actually change the parameters of his performance and step away from the continuous conveyor belt output of monotonous family comedies. Magnolia Pictures, the film's distributor, intends to continue its tradition of making the movie available by “Video on Demand” on the cable channel HDNet during its first week of release. Therefore, it is highly probable that Robin Williams will have to wait until the release of Old Dogs before he has a legitimate chance to reclaim his box office glory.

The good news for the viewer, however, is that World's Greatest Dad looks to be quite entertaining and it has already received some favorable reviews since premiering at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Another excellent sign is the film's restricted rating. This will not be another dull, dim-witted comedy such as License to Wed, Man of The Year, or RV. It is more in the tradition of Robin Williams' other black comedies, The Big White and Death to Smoochy. Leave the kids at home when you go to see this one.

Robin Williams has already proven that he can be a credible actor in a dark role with his excellent performance in Insomnia, One Hour Photo, The Last Cut, and most recently an episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. It will be interesting to see if he can still bring the laughter to such a bleak role.

Starring as Lance Clayton,Williams' character is a man who has been unable to obtain his dream of becoming a famous writer, and he has learned to settle as a high school poetry teacher. His son, Kyle (Daryl Sabara), is a disrespectful ass who refuses to obey his father's wishes, and his girlfriend, Claire (Alexie Gimore), has her attention focused on a bigger prize. When a freak accident occurs, Lance is forced to face both tragedy and opportunity. Suddenly, all his dreams can come true, as long as he can live to accept the consequences of his decision.

Directed by Bobcat Goldthwait, yes, you read that right, the lunatic from the Police Academy series, World's Greatest Dad is a dark and original comedy that should influence its viewers to face their own issues with family and the constantly growing compulsion in society to be famous. Download Wrestling movies for free

Professional wrestling's popularity in some parts of the world is at first glance not always easy to understand. Without researching any of the local customs of a region, the theatrical qualities of this odd dance of showmanship and athleticism would seem incongruous with the places where such exhibitions occur.

An excellent example of this is Mexico, a place where ancient acts of heroism are often retold using the storytelling device of having masked men represent/recreate the heroism and villainy of a tale. Their process is not unlike Kabuki, and that tidbit of knowledge helps explain the similar rationale behind pro wrestling's popularity in Japan.

Similarly, a region of the world which is famous for its celebrations of tribal heritage and culture is Hawaii. Not coincidentally, these islands have historically been a hotbed for pro wrestling. Promoter Peter Maivia and his wife, Lia, have been running shows for the last half century now. When Chief Peter died, Lia took over the family business and became one of the first successful female promoters in the industry. Wrestling was so much of a family business for the two that they passed the love of it down to their children. Two of them became world famous tag team wrestlers The Wild Samoans, while a daughter married an up-and-comer named Rocky Johnson.

The offspring of Johnson and the daughter of the Maivia clan, Dwayne, initially tried a different career. He graduated from the Miami Hurricane football program only to discover an NFL career was unlikely. Not all defensive linemen from Miami are able to follow the Warren Sapp career path.

After kicking around in the CFL for a while, Dwayne gave up his his first love and accepted the family business. He debuted in the WWF under the moniker of Rocky Maivia as a way to celebrate the legacies of his wrestling father and grandfather. All the while, he kept within him the history of his culture and the untold stories awaiting a Hollywood production.

After early failures as a crowd favorite, the man suddenly decided the only remaining option for his career would be to mimic one of his wrestling heroes, Ric Flair, by using his untapped charisma to make audiences hate him for being so innately cool. It was in this simple decision that his future was secured. The man born Dwayne Johnson dropped his family moniker and became simply known as The Rock. No one knew it at the time but the history of pro wrestling -and- Hollywood movie making changed that day.

No longer were wrestling parts reserved for the area of comedy relief such as Hulk Hogan had once offered, nor were wrestlers circus sideshow acts like strongman Tor Johnson. The Rock proved quickly that he was more than just a flash in the pan. His work in The Mummy Returns earned him a solo outing as The Scorpion King. Some wagging tongues suggested that he was a cheaper model of Vin Diesel, but then The Rundown was released. While not as financially successful as hoped, the movie offered a much more surprising revelation. The Rock can act.

In the period that followed the end of production, The Rock suddenly found himself receiving innumerable offers for mega-dollar deals. Spy Hunter, Be Cool and Walking Tall were all lined up, but The Rock never forgot his roots.

The Rock has chosen to celebrate his Polynesian heritage with this effort. Rather than use his grandfather's manner of embracing the culture and tradition of his people through pro wrestling re-enactments, he has instead single-handedly gotten a greenlight for a project of one of his cultural ancestors, King Kamehameha.

Amazingly, there were outcries of protest regarding this casting decision, as The Rock is not Hawiian but instead Samoan. Hereditary concerns aside, what he has chosen to do with his newfound stroke is one of those laudable feats in recent Hollywood memory.

With regards to the plot of the movie, King Kamehameha is the tribal king who unified the seven main islands under one throne. When Spanish and English explorers arrived on the islands, they were surprised to discover a well-oiled unit of government rather than a hodge-podge of feuding local rulers. This prevented all of the would-be Magellans from the divide-and-conquer strategy that proved so successful with so much of the New World.

The Rock has indicated a desire to play up Kamehameha's place in history as an advanced military tactician of his day. Don't be surprised, though, if some of the king's political savvy as a ruler who realized compromise is sometimes better than conquering plays a part in key portions of the biopic.

PS: Fun trick to impress your friends when the movie is about to be released: Kamehameha is easy to remember and spell if you look at it this way: Kame-hame-ha. As for pronunciation, well, you're on your own. I would guess those 'me' are syllables which sound like the month of May, but the Rock weighs 275 pounds. I really don't want to piss him off by teaching all of you an incorrect method. (David Mumpower/BOP)

X-Men Origins Wolverine: FREE Download Links!

Spinning off from the hugely popular X-Men franchise, Wolverine is the first character to get his own movie. X-Men Origins: Wolverine will star the man who became a superstar due to this role. Hugh Jackman leads a cast that is sure to please long time fans of the X-Men comics. Co-starring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, the wisecracking Merc With A Mouth, Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth, his long time nemesis, Dominic Monaghan (Charlie from Lost and a hobbit from Lord of the Rings) as Beak. Perhaps the most requested mutant to make the jump to the big screen (besides Wolverine) is Gambit, and he will be played by Taylor Kitsch, who many know as Riggins on Friday Night Lights. Other characters slated to be in the movie are Agent Zero and John Wraith, as well as The Blob and Weapon XI.

With filming already under way, director Gavin Hood (Rendition, Tsotsi) is guiding Hugh Jackman in a movie that promises to show aspects of Wolverine's life that we've not yet seen. Rumored to deal with his past history as James Howlett and aspects of the Weapon X program that turned him and others into killing machines, Logan is on a quest for vengeance against his long time nemesis Sabretooth.

Wolverine's first appearance was in Hulk #180, where he showed up on the very last page. His first full-fledged appearance was in Hulk #181 (Can one smell a crossover movie with the Hulk?) where the two squared off in the first of many battles. Created by writer Len Wein and designed by Marvel Art Director John Romita Jr., the first artist to draw him in comics was Herb Trimple. He joined the X-Men in 1975 in the Uncanny Xâ€"Men and legendary writers and artist Chris Claremont and John Bryne were major contributors to the development of the character. It wasn't until Frank Miller did a four-issue Wolverine mini-series that the character had his own book. With the success of the mini-series, Wolverine was given his own ongoing series in 1988 and has had multiple other series of books as well. He was a lead character in the X-Men cartoon in the early 1990s and has been featured in multiple video games and other forms of media as well. In 2004, Brian Bendis made Wolverine a full-fledged member of the Avengers while he still remained an X-Man as well.

With the X-men series of movies currently on hold as the studio figures out what direction to take, it was a natural decision to spin-off one of the most popular characters in comics and Super Hero movies into his own film. While not under the Marvel Studios banner, the X-Men and related mutant characters are under the 20th Century Fox umbrella. (Pete Kilmer/BOP)
